• Falcon Heavy – Up, up and away(and back) in few days. What should you know about this beautiful beast?

Falcon Heavy is by far the powerful rocket to have been manufactured. Thanks to SpaceX, it will liftoff on Feb 6 2018 from the launch pad 39A, located at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral  – the same one used by NASA’s Apollo moon missions making this one historical too. Although NASA is in-progress of building a much heavier rocket called SLS (Space Launch System) which is expected to be completed only by 2020, SpaceX’s FH will still stand out due to less cost and reusable capability. What makes this so special? As already mentioned its of the powerful operational rocket to have ever built with less cost. It has…

  • Warp drive – will it become a reality?

Sound barrier was broken a long time ago. Ever since that law was broken, sci-fi geeks have been waiting to see more of “fantasy come true”. One of which is the warp drive from star trek. How far are we from that? Or how close are we? Let me not drag the answer, scientists believe that it is quite impossible considering Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light – however, if we could compact and expand the fabric of space-time ahead of and behind us, technically we could travel faster than the speed of light. Technically. Anyway, like i mentioned earlier It’s just…

  • Remember, the important thing is not to stop questioning – Albert Einstein

I dedicate one week of every month’s to post about questions taken from Quora. Here goes this month’s bunch. Where exactly is our solar system located? If you examine our Milky Way graphical upper view, it sort of looks like an octopus’s top view but with spiral shaped arms. These arms illuminate interstellar dust and gas. Each arm, named as Perseus Arm, Sagittarius Arm, Centaurus Arm and Cygnus Arm and our solar system lies in the Orion Spur which is a minor arm. It is located 26,000 light years from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Here is NASA’s pictorial view: What happens if the Sun turns into a…

  • Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple – Here is this week’s Q&A!

As mentioned in my last month’s post, I am dedicating a week to answer random questions picked from Quora. So here is this month’s lot. If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do all over differently? Oh yeah, I would be surprised if there isn’t a long list of “do-overs” that could have been done differently.  However, I don’t think I would do that even if I had the chance. Everything that I did, every decision,  every choice that I made in my life took me on one hell of a ride( and looking forward to more). Yes, that was a bumpy ride (I…
