What is good about having a pet?
The experience of having a pet holds different meanings for each person, shaped by their own life and values.
While I don’t have a pet yet, I’ve often thought about it. Maybe a gentle fish or a small dog that remains forever small. More than that, though, I imagine sharing this companionship with a partner—someone with whom I could fully embrace the responsibility and joy of caring for another life.
Because at its core, having a pet is more than simply looking after another being. It’s a profound journey of companionship, a chance to share your truest self with a creature that listens without judgment, that loves without condition. It’s a bond that becomes a quiet sanctuary, a place where you and your pet truly see one another.
