• Warp drive – will it become a reality?

Sound barrier was broken a long time ago. Ever since that law was broken, sci-fi geeks have been waiting to see more of “fantasy come true”. One of which is the warp drive from star trek. How far are we from that? Or how close are we? Let me not drag the answer, scientists believe that it is quite impossible considering Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light – however, if we could compact and expand the fabric of space-time ahead of and behind us, technically we could travel faster than the speed of light. Technically. Anyway, like i mentioned earlier It’s just…

  • New discoveries – yet again! 72 new galaxies found.

Astronomers at the ESO (European Southern Observatory) have found 72 new galaxies hiding in the plain sight. This was observed by Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE), a second generation instrument in development for the Very Large Telescope (VLT) of the ESO. The galaxies were observed on the area in space called “Hubble Ultra Deep Field”, usually where many telescopes are pointed in search for such galaxies. But what makes MUSE different is that, it uses spectroscopy to break light into its component colors. And as it happens, these galaxies emits Lyman-alpha light which is a particular wavelength of ultraviolet light – which MUSE was able to detect unlike other telescope…
